Merchant's Antebellum Account Record



1840-1844 Savannah, Georgia
This account records that Negro slaves were sold with home furnishings, books (including a Bible), and farm animals, products, and implements. A Dr. George Blakely purchased "one Negro girl Aggy for $405.00". Captain A. Park purchased "one Negro boy for $600.00".
(Slavery was abolished by the 13th amendment to the US Constitution and enacted in 1865)
